The holding of the annual general meeting, and consequently the publication of its report, is an effective way of keeping members informed about the Association’s activities. This minimum, however, proves insufficient when the year is rich in events. The fourth centenary of the lighting of a beacon at Cordouan, and all the events that punctuated 2011, provided a good opportunity to launch a newsletter, the frequency of which has yet to be defined.
The Association became involved in the programme of events marking the 400 Years of Light of the Cordouan Lighthouse, which began on 11 June 2011. This first issue, prepared by our secretary Bruno Gasteuil, is a trial run that will only need to be developed further if the format proves popular. Enjoy reading, and see you very soon.
