N°23
The year 2020 will remain a particular period in the history of the Association, as it approached its forty years of existence.
It was marked by numerous absences: no members’ outing, no Lighthouse Nights, very low attendance at the museum, and the postponement until 2021 of the decision regarding the inscription of the Cordouan Lighthouse on the World Heritage List.
N°22
After an August marked by a clear decline in attendance at the museum, with 3,228 visitors compared to 4,946 in August 2019, followed by a particularly quiet month of September (479 visitors compared to 1,254 the previous year), the month of October confirmed this trend.
This situation led to the closure of the site on 12 October. It should be noted, however, that no cases of Covid were recorded at the lighthouse.
N°21
The summer period of 2020 proved to be a particular one. After a long lockdown, the tourist season resumed timidly as early as June and, from mid-July onwards, activity gradually increased, without however returning to the level of attendance of the previous year.
The events calendar was profoundly disrupted, forcing the Association to adapt to an unprecedented context.
