N°20

At the dawn of a new decade, numerous improvements are taking shape for the Cordouan Lighthouse and the museum.
The monument is then entering a decisive phase of renovation works: the hall, the King’s apartment and the chapel are the focus of particular attention in the years to come. The Association is following these works with great interest and welcomes the quality of the improvements made to the building.

N°19

The past few weeks have been particularly active for the Association. The building permit relating to the museum redevelopment was granted on 6 August, followed by the launch of a call for tenders.
As this proved unsuccessful, it was decided to postpone the start of the works until September 2020, in order to select the companies under better conditions and to calmly prepare the move. The first boxes were ready: it was only a postponement.

N°18

The day began under a slightly overcast sky, with temperatures forecast around 22°C.
In the end, the sun proved generous without being overpowering, and a light breeze in the afternoon came to remind us of the lighthouse’s isolation, lost offshore — exactly what we had come to experience. The presence of nearly 80 people at Cordouan over an entire tidal cycle required rigorous organisation, particularly for supplies. As tradition dictates, everyone brought a dish for lunch and dinner, contributing to the conviviality of this shared day.
